Magnolia Park - Houston, TX
Magnolia Park is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Houston. The historic neighborhood is located near the Houston Ship Channel, which serves as a conduit between Houston-area terminals and the Gulf of Mexico. The channel also serves inland barge traffic. Magnolia Park began development in 1890 and was incorporated in 1913. With such a rich history, there are several historical structures still exiting in Magnolia Park today, standing souvenirs of a time gone by.
Magnolia Park is located just north of Mason Park, supplying breathtaking views. Mason Park is home to a playground, a community center, tennis courts, trails and more. About three miles west are the University of Houston and Texas Southern University. The Executive Golf Club is also located nearby.
