Southside Place subdivision real estate is nicknamed “The City of Tallows” for its abundant Chinese Tallow trees. It covers a 10-block radius south of West University Place and east of Bellaire. This small enclave is regarded as Houston’s secret luxury residential hideaway. Southside Place serves as both a residential and commercial area. It has only nine streets alphabetized from Bellaire to Jardin and stretches one block wide between Edloe and Auden.

The HISD serves the residents of Southside Place. School going children can attend West University Elementary, Twain Elementary, and Pershing Middle School. Two of Houston’s top ranked high schools, Lamar High and Bellaire High are zoned to Southside Place homes.
