Greenway Park Homes for Sale

Development of Greenway Park dates back to 1927. Texas architect David R. Williams, who discovered the English-style “common green” concept on his travels to Europe in the ‘20s, brought the inviting layout for this unique, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood to life. Despite the Dallas North Tollway running along the neighborhood's eastern border, the graceful boulevards and lots dotted with trees preserve a quiet atmosphere.

The official entrance into this neighborhood is via one of two triangular parkways on Mockingbird Lane. Homes for sale feature diverse architectural styles which range from postwar Bauhaus to Ranch to Tudor. The homes are well kept and maintained and face wide, private green belts instead of the streets. This unique neighborhood is unlike anything else in Dallas, so much that in 2003 the City made Greenway Parks a Conservation District at the behest of many of its original families. The Texas Society of Architects also named it one of Texas' 25 Best Places to Live in Dallas.

Homeowners Association

Strict-deed enforcements, a strong homeowners association, and a strong neighborhood pride have helped maintain the area. Besides, the 300 plus families have been faithful to their roots for the better part of a century. The HOA maintains common areas and community website, provides security and enforces Conservation District restrictions

Living in Greenway Parks & Community Highlights

If you work in downtown Dallas, proximity to the North Dallas Tollway allows for an easy 10-minute commute. You can also take the DART during city events and concerts from stations in downtown Dallas, Irving and Plano. For easy to travel for business or vacations, Greenway Parks is moments away Dallas Love Field. For shopping enthusiasts, Dallas is home to more shops than you can shake a stick at. An array of shopping malls and shopping centers perforate the city including Inwood Village and Lovers Lane. The mammoth Hong Kong Market Place is the Asian equivalent to Central Market. Here you can buy at least fifty varieties of noodles, live tilapia, lobsters, eels, and blue crabs. Fresh produce includes lush greens such as cai ngot, yu choy and ong choy.

Kid-friendly activities are aplenty including Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. In case the weather turns inclement, there’s plenty to do indoors. You can head to the indoor water park at Great Wolf Lodge or explore the many museums in both Dallas and Fort Worth. The Dallas Museum of Art was named one of the top 10 art museums for kids by Child Magazine. It offers special family audio tours that make art exciting for kids. The museum is home to over 23,000 works stretching over 5,000 years of human creativity.

If schools are important to you, the Dallas ISD serves Greenway Park with great educational opportunities. Some of the assigned schools for this community include KB Polk Center For Academically T, Edward High Cary Middle School, and Thomas Jefferson High School.
