Development of Greenway Park dates back to 1927. Texas architect David R. Williams, who discovered the English-style “common green” concept on his travels to Europe in the ‘20s, brought the inviting layout for this unique, pedestrian-oriented neighborhood to life. Despite the Dallas North Tollway running along the neighborhood's eastern border, the graceful boulevards and lots dotted with trees preserve a quiet atmosphere.
The official entrance into this neighborhood is via one of two triangular parkways on Mockingbird Lane. Homes for sale feature diverse architectural styles which range from postwar Bauhaus to Ranch to Tudor. The homes are well kept and maintained and face wide, private green belts instead of the streets. This unique neighborhood is unlike anything else in Dallas, so much that in 2003 the City made Greenway Parks a Conservation District at the behest of many of its original families. The Texas Society of Architects also named it one of Texas' 25 Best Places to Live in Dallas.
