Who doesn’t love a good happy hour? And Bryan-College station has plenty. Try these five on for size.

Atami Steak and Sushi

Considered not just the best hibachi in the area, but also the best happy hour in Aggieland.  Visit Monday through Thursday from 5-7 p.m. for $1.50 longnecks and discounted menu items. And if the chef isn’t Japanese, so what, the food gets top marks from pretty much everyone who’s ever eaten here.

Grub Burger Bar

It’s not just a great patio and great burger at Grub. They also have a terrific (and quite popular) happy hour, every day from 3-6 p.m. Grab $3 well drinks, domestics, and half- order cheese fries, or $4 craft pints, margaritas, wines, and half-order Ahi Tuna appetizers. And for $5, there are signature drinks, spiked shakes, and two signature appetizers ‒‒ Harlem chicken tenders and crawfish pistolettes.

O’Bannon’s Taphouse

If you’re looking for a younger crowd and a relaxed Irish-style pub, ‘where a pint precedes a story,” you’ll never get more Irish than O’Bannon’s. They also have a great Monday-Friday happy hour, from 2-8 p.m. Drop by for $2 wells and $1 off all draft beers in the house. Wednesdays also feature half-priced draft beer all night, and on Thursdays if you buy a glass of beer, you keep the glass.

Rebel Draft House

Always packed, whether happy hour or not, Rebel Draft House lines up an impressive array of craft beers and live music of the country-western persuasion. Their specials change with the day, but everyone who checks out their weekday, mid-evening happy hour walks away singing the praises of this traditional America-style tavern.

Napa Flats Wood-fired Kitchen

Known in College Station and Tulsa (where there’s another location) for their grill and pizza delights, Napa Flats also has one of the best happy hour food-and-drink menus in the region. Visit Monday-Friday from 3-6:30 p.m. for $3 craft beers and $5 tap wines. Yes, tap wines. Or you can try $4 mimosas, margarita, or sangrias. Posted by Richard Soto on
